A few days
ago we went on a school trip to Loutraki, Greece. Loutraki isn’t much of a
tourist destination in April (although it is in the summer) so me and my friends know it was going to be boring. We started thinking about ways to have more fun
and the only thing that came to our minds was… drinking vodka.
Don’t get
us wrong we are not used to it. We had never done that before. We just
thought “what the heck!”. So the day
before we met up and went to buy some vodka (And yes they did sell us
alcohol!). We then separated the bottle of vodka into four bottles.
The next
day came and all the kids from B’ lyceum (juniors in high school) got on the
bus. Despite the heat we had fun during the bus ride listening to music and
joking around. We stopped at a place called “hraklio” which was completely
deserted. It was really beautiful so we took a lot of pictures there.
After that
we arrived at “loutraki” where we students were free to wonder around the small
town and have lunch. So my friends and I went to a place called “woody’s” for food
and we got Greek souvlaki and club sandwich with chicken gyros. When we finished eating we went and bought
some lemonade from the local supermarket for the vodka.
There were
five of us and one of us, Salma, doesn’t drink so we kind of had a disagreement
as to where we should sit. At first I was really annoyed so I kind of walked
alone. In the end, we left Salma for a while and the other four went to a shady
place to drink the vodka.
We started
drinking and having fun and laughing. We danced and joked around and listened
to music. We were so loud that some people were looking at us. We weren’t
annoyed by that at all, we continued doing our thing. Eventually went back to
meet Salma.
Suddenly, I
started feeling a sharp pain in my chest. Salma was sick worried about us all
and wanted the teachers not to find out. I didn’t understand it at the time.
Because the pain continued to get worse I went and sat down (more like
collapsed) in the shade. Then Salma, Iwanna and Samia went to get ice cream
after they brought us water. So I stayed there on the floor and Anna Maria was
left there twerking and dancing around me. As we sat there I started feeling
better and having fun again so I said “If nothing bad happens today I don’t
regret this at all”.
The girls
were gone for a while so we stayed there and at some time two friends, Alex and
Angel came and started talking to us. Both boys were kind of surprised to find
out that we were drunk (Ok yes I couldn’t even pick up my own cell phone off
the floor that I dropped). As we were laughing and having a good time my phone
rang. It was some girl from the other class that was asking we in a cocky way where I was. Annoyed at the fact that someone had given her my number and that now everyone would know, I shouted at her “go to hell “ and
shut the phone.
A moment
later, Salma came around with Calvin and Katerina and told me that Iwanna
wasn’t ok. I Started asking were was Iwanna and I accused Salma of giving my
number to that girl and telling everyone about it. I also threw the bottle of
the water to the floor with great force and started walking. Calvin gave us
another bottle of water and then went to find Iwanna.
I saw
Iwanna sitting on a bench and everyone was standing in front of her. When I got
there none of them started accusing me of what happened to Iwanna( I hate that
the can only say that through the phone). So I told everyone to back off in order for her to get so air and when I hugged Iwanna she started crying.
The rest of
the story continues with everyone trying to make us sober in order for the teachers not to know about it
because otherwise we would get expelled
and telling how irresponsible we are (not even to our faces).
Salma later
asked me “Do you love?” and That was
when I realized how worried she had been. “You have no idea how much” I answered. I really
feel bad about the way I talked to Salma accusing her of giving my number and
telling everyone about it when in fact Samia did it. Samia acted like she was drunk with
us and when everyone came around she played the responsible one. (P.s Salma and
Samia are two different name). So Salma if you’re reading this I want to tell
you once again that I’m really sorry and I love you to the moon and back.
When it
comes to the other guys I am really grateful for some of them who helped us and
I have to admit that they moved me with the way they cared for us. But some of
them really annoyed me because I could tell they faked it all.
Do you
remember when I said that “If nothing bad happens today I don’t regret this at
all” ?Well, We managed to get back to
Athens with all of us sober and the teachers still to this day not having found
out. You see our teachers and especially our principal were too busy shouting at the kids who were swimming in the sea and spying on the ones who were making sandcastles, not the ones who were drunk at three in the afternoon! We plan to keep it that way.
And have
you heard the phrase “Bad decisions make good stories”? Well, this is one of
them!!!
Enjoy our photos!
